The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) allocated $149 million to help Wisconsinites make home improvements. Our partner Focus on Energy administers the funds.
Two main programs can help residents offset up to 50%–100% of costs for qualified improvements:
- Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES)
HOMES helps pay for energy-efficient home improvements, such as insulation, air sealing, and high efficiency heating and cooling equipment. A home energy assessment is required, and work must be performed by an IRA registered contractor. The rebate amounts vary based on household income and projected energy savings. - Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR)
HEAR helps eligible households install heat pumps, energy-efficient electric appliances, insulation, air sealing, and electrical panel/wiring upgrades. HEAR is available to Wisconsin households with incomes at or below 150% of the Area Median Income.
